Overview

CareerPharm is the pharmacy employment and career development service of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). CareerPharm exclusively services the hospital and health system markets and offers three ways to search for jobs. CareerPharm assists any pharmacist seeking a position in a hospital or health-system. Employers utilize CareerPharm’s services to recruit practitioners at all levels.

CareerPharm Job Board

CareerPharm Online is available for job search and career development any time you need advice on a career related topic or you’re interested in learning what types of positions are available for pharmacists. The CareerPharm service is free at anytime and to anyone. You do not need to be an ASHP member to use our services.

If you’re interested in reading our Career Advice or doing a job search you can do that at any time from the CareerPharm home page. To receive all of the benefits from the site you should spend a few quick minutes and create an account.

Creating an account will allow you to:

• Create up to 3 resumes so that employers can search for you.
• Save time from conducting multiple daily searches by using our Job Alert feature. All you need to do is set up the Job Alert to meet your criteria and an email will be sent to you when a compatible job is posted.
• Create a confidential resume.
• Create up to 3 cover letters.
• Avoid having to send attachments or fill out multiple online applications and apply to jobs directly from your CareerPharm account. (some employers choose not to offer this option)

AJHP

Every issue of AJHP features a CareerPharm section of printed classified and display advertising. AJHP also features special CareerPharm editorial issues and bonus distribution issues.

PPS

PPS is a national pharmacy recruiting event that takes place annually at ASHP’s Midyear Clinical Meeting. PPS is not your average career fair; it’s the largest pharmacy recruiting event where employers and job seekers can meet and interview in one convenient location.  PPS is not just for job seekers.  PPS is a well-known venue for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residencies and pharmacy fellowships.

Basic PPS Information:

• There is a fee to participate for both employers and job seekers.
• To participate in PPS you must purchase and post a PPS resume on this site.
• You may only post one resume for PPS.
• You may transfer any resume you currently have posted on CareerPharm to PPS so that it is visible to PPS job seekers. You must pay the PPS fee first and you must be available to interview at the event.
• Once your resume is complete it will be assigned a mailbox number.
• Your resume will be visible on PPS from the day the search goes live (mid-October) until the end of January.
• Only PPS registered employers will be able to view your PPS resume.
• Post your resume early to receive the most exposure to PPS registered employers.
• When the search feature is live you should begin searching for jobs and contacting employers you are interested in meeting.
• You can contact employers via email directly from the PPS site to schedule interviews in advance of PPS. (We strongly encourage setting up pre-arranged interviews).
• We will provide a mailbox and interview message forms so that you can continue to set up interviews once you are at the meeting.
