Q: How do I apply for jobs?

A: You may apply in a number of ways depending on the instructions provided by the employer. You may apply directly when you search jobs and view your search results. If you have a CareerPharm account, you may also apply online via CareerPharm.

PPS Specific Questions

Q: What types of employers participate in PPS?

A: Employers in PPS are recruiting for all types of positions including PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs, fellowships, entry level and advanced pharmacy positions.

Q: I’d like to participate in PPS but I will not be able to go to the Midyear?

A: Employers participating in PPS expect to meet candidates for interviews. If you are unable to attend the Midyear you will not be able to participate in PPS.

Q: How do I participate in PPS?

A: First, make sure you plan on attending the Midyear Clinical Meeting and register for the Midyear at www.ashp.org/meetings/midyear. Then, choose the PPS link from this site and pay for PPS. Once registered, you may begin building your resume. Once your resume is complete you can begin searching for jobs. When you find jobs you are interested in, send the employer a message to let them know you’d like to meet with them at PPS. Continue to search for jobs before the meeting and set up as many appointments before arriving at PPS. You should also respond to any inquiries you receive from employers who are interested in meeting with you. Once you are onsite you can continue to search and contact employers. Please see onsite reference information for more details.

Q: What are the benefits of posting my resume early?

A: The earlier you post your resume the more opportunities you will have to obtain interviews.

Q: Why have I been assigned a mailbox number?

A: The mailbox number corresponds to an assigned mailbox at the meeting that you can use to continue communications with employers. When you arrive, please check your mailbox because employers may have left messages for you. Each job posting is also assigned a mailbox number. You can leave messages for employers in their assigned mailbox. Mailboxes are beneficial for making last minute arrangements.

Q: Where will I meet employers for interviews?

A: Every employer is assigned a space in the PPS hall to conduct interviews. If you’ve arranged an interview with an employer they should let you know where to meet them. If for some reason the employer has not provided you with their interview location you can ask for information at the PPS information desk on site.
