Pharmacy Technician (Full-time)
Dameron Hospital, Stockton, CA
Schedule: Full time day / evening rotations and some weekends.
Description: Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacists, you’ll work in a team-based, fast-paced environment to prepare, compound, and distribute medications for use in the hospital. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. You'll use automated technology to efficiently and safely meet patients' pharmaceutical needs. You'll also work in a state-of-the-art IV clean room to prepare intravenous infusions.
Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.
You will be expected to provide good customer service to Nurses, Physicians, and other members of the hospital healtcare team.
Qualifications:
- Certified pharmacy technician with CA licensure
-At least 6+ months previous pharmacy technician experience required beyond the externship in a hospital setting
- Ability to execute complex instructions
-Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated skill in providing good customer service
- Experience and skill in using Microsoft Office
Facility: Dameron Hospital is a fully accredited 200+-bed community hospital offering a broad range of medical, surgical, and health maintenance services for emergency and acute care. NICU, ICU,CCU, Cath Lab. The Pharmacy is centralized, open daily 365 days per year, and has recently implemented significant automation upgrades. Pharmacy staff work rotating shifts. Management of the inpatient and outpatient pharmacies is outsourced to CPS. All pharmacy staff are CPS employees.
